Exercise in Excerise

Lawry and I decided that it would be a good exercise in discipline to wake up when the sun wakes up.  I was all about it on the phone the night before, all "This is so great, we can do it together... sort of! I'm excited!" That was 9 pm Jo.  At 6:10 when Lawry called to wake me up, my brain thought "Oh man... what did I get myself into?? Is this what our marriage will be like?  Will he have to know if I go back to sleep, is that bad??"  In the end, I decided that Lawry was right and we should be le disciplinarians and such, so I put on my Asics.  I really enjoyed it though.  My run was great.  And, I really liked Lawry's perspective on it.  Anyway, I had breakfast with my parents and it gave me a great boost of morning energy.  I think I like the morning work out plan.  Plus, I need to get the heart rate up if I'm going to keep going on calorie-filled adventures, like...

Avanti's Italian with the Zambrano(-Welches)! We went to Dallas to have dinner with my parents' friends after the Molly & David Love Spectacular.  The dinner was "Heyyyyy Uptown!"
Also, as you'll note, we are very safe people. Click it or ticket!

And...

Lawry and I at Fuzzy's Taco Shop in Lewisville! So. good. Russell found the butt-burning sauce quite amusé. And, I thought I was in a dream because the tacos were so good.  Grilled shrimp is my way to go.

WAIT, there's more! We went to Tropical Sno on Ole Orch in the Lew! Passion Fruit Sno-cone with cream on top? Yes, please.  Cream is definitely worth the 50 cents.
AND... just when you thought my calorie gorging was over...

'Appy 'our at Barcadia on Henderson with Blarrr and the most recent generation of Bonsites! We had a Firemen's Four and a Lawnmower.  One 1554 for anyone that can guess what those are :) Also, go to Barcadia if you're in Dallas.  It is an arcade for adults. Massive connect-four, jenga made out of two-by-fours, a pretty fun deck, and old school arcade games inside.  I'm not really a gamer-nerd, but once I drop a metallic-Washington into a Pacman game, I'm hooked until I'm out of pocket change.

IT'S STILL NOT OVER!
Mi mamá and I visited Zaguán's Latin American Bakery (read: Venezuelan food) on Oaklawn (again, HEYYYY Uptown) after a vair successful dress hunt session.  Holler for getting wed things done.  Mamá is tres helpful.  Anyway, I think it was that early morning run that set my whole day on the right track, thanks Lawrinator.

Speaking of Seldom Seen Things

I know I blogged about Blarski's farm in fit of Texas adoration back in January, but the Atch farm is undeniably fantastic.  It deserves a re-blogging.  Perhaps most of its attraction is the time spent with good friends, but mostly I think the farm is so great because I get to see one of the best things about Texas with my good friends.  'Cause lets be honest, I see them at dinners, our respective houses and Fat Straws (blog about THAT, forthcoming), so the farm is special, because the farm has sunsets!
I heart Texas sunsets because they take up the entire sky.
Hmm, seldom seen places, seldom seen friends
Rewarding the bloggers with frequent posts after my extended absence,

Life to a T. Swift and K. West soundtrack...

Undergrad Party 2010!! HOLLA!

This is me in my tights, boots and oversized sweater before heading to the undergrad party!  All this undergradie-ness got me reminiscing on the good times before I became a semi-adult.

When I think "college," there are a few songs playing in the background of my mind.  I think "SexyBack" and "Gold digger." "Crazyboutya" and "Brown Eyes" are also staples of my undergraduate existence.  Finally, "Our Song" and "Womanizer" and "Single Ladies" have a strong hold on my fonder memories of college.  What can I say?  I like to dance.
Also, I think of dorm rooms.  The cramped lifestyle, the living on-campus, the freshman year experience! Tagging along with that, the apartment I lived in my junior year, and the BONSAI my senior year.  Man, I loved college.

I loved the time Hurricane Ike blew through College Station and Blake, Blair and I went outside to jump in the SQUALLS! Ashley was out helping refugee type people because she is such a nice and less self-centered person than me.  I bet she doesn't blog.

Missing undergrad a little bit,
MJ

It's like that one episode of FRIENDS where...

It's funny how many life instances remind people of Friends, some of the top ones in my life?

1. The one when Phoebe gives Monica a massage...normally happens when I'm with Blair, cause she is so darn good at giving massages!

2.The one with the apothecary table...anytime I see a Pottery Barn or a PB magazine, or a flea market. or the word "yore."

3. This one is a first timer: the time Phoebe is mad at Ross, but she can't remember why.

How did this last one happen to me? Well, somehow, in my head, I invented that I had said something on my friend Holle's Facebook wall, and the next day I checked FB and she had deleted my post! I figured that I had said something insensitive on Holle's wall and she was therefore a little irked with me.  So, I call her to apologize for posting something on her wall, I couldn't remember what I had said, but I figured I had been super-insensitive because I hadn't even given it enough thought to remember it.  I call her and say as much and she says, "Umm, you didn't write on my wall this week, did you create this whole story in your head? ARE YOU OKAY? ARE YOU STRESSED?"  Needless to say, I felt silly.  Like Pheobe must have felt :)  Thankfully, Holle is hilarious and shared awkward stories about her life with me.  I felt better about my silliness instantly.

(Bluffs Camp, July '08)
Holle, it was TOO easy to find a picture of you that captured why you are so cool :)

What a GREAT STATE!

 Blarsk opening up THE RIDGE!

Texas is a fantastic place.  I've only been back a few days, but I just hands-down love it.  Blair took Blakeslee and I out to her family ranch on Monday.  Man, I love Texas.

This is a very BLAKE picture.  That's Midnight who runs awkwardly.

Me, shooting a handgun.  I don't normally shoot ANYTHING, but I did hit the bottle twice.

I just like this picture.  MAD COW!

Blair climbing up the ancient windmill.

TEXAS.  How I missed thee.

Enjoying warmer climes,
MJ
