So, my Real Simple gets mailed to Indiana, meaning: I hadn't read the magazine ALL SUMMER! In order to make up for this, I took my four issues, a pen, and a little note-pad and I got my Real Simple magazine on at B&N. It inspired me to do this:
His and Hers salmon tostadas! Except for that the fact that they were just HERS tostadas. I'm not ashamed... they were divine, plus who only eats one tostada anyway? That's like only eating one taco. It's okay, I had gone running that morning and I ate a banana that day, it cancels out any unhealthy-ness.

Exercise in Excerise
Lawry and I decided that it would be a good exercise in discipline to wake up when the sun wakes up. I was all about it on the phone the night before, all "This is so great, we can do it together... sort of! I'm excited!" That was 9 pm Jo. At 6:10 when Lawry called to wake me up, my brain thought "Oh man... what did I get myself into?? Is this what our marriage will be like? Will he have to know if I go back to sleep, is that bad??" In the end, I decided that Lawry was right and we should be le disciplinarians and such, so I put on my Asics. I really enjoyed it though. My run was great. And, I really liked Lawry's perspective on it. Anyway, I had breakfast with my parents and it gave me a great boost of morning energy. I think I like the morning work out plan. Plus, I need to get the heart rate up if I'm going to keep going on calorie-filled adventures, like...
Avanti's Italian with the Zambrano(-Welches)! We went to Dallas to have dinner with my parents' friends after the Molly & David Love Spectacular. The dinner was "Heyyyyy Uptown!"
Also, as you'll note, we are very safe people. Click it or ticket!
And...
Lawry and I at Fuzzy's Taco Shop in Lewisville! So. good. Russell found the butt-burning sauce quite amusé. And, I thought I was in a dream because the tacos were so good. Grilled shrimp is my way to go.
WAIT, there's more! We went to Tropical Sno on Ole Orch in the Lew! Passion Fruit Sno-cone with cream on top? Yes, please. Cream is definitely worth the 50 cents.
AND... just when you thought my calorie gorging was over...
'Appy 'our at Barcadia on Henderson with Blarrr and the most recent generation of Bonsites! We had a Firemen's Four and a Lawnmower. One 1554 for anyone that can guess what those are :) Also, go to Barcadia if you're in Dallas. It is an arcade for adults. Massive connect-four, jenga made out of two-by-fours, a pretty fun deck, and old school arcade games inside. I'm not really a gamer-nerd, but once I drop a metallic-Washington into a Pacman game, I'm hooked until I'm out of pocket change.
IT'S STILL NOT OVER!
Mi mamá and I visited Zaguán's Latin American Bakery (read: Venezuelan food) on Oaklawn (again, HEYYYY Uptown) after a vair successful dress hunt session. Holler for getting wed things done. Mamá is tres helpful. Anyway, I think it was that early morning run that set my whole day on the right track, thanks Lawrinator.

That's What I Like About Texas
Went to the heart of Texas this past weekend to hang with my sister and meet Lawry. I went to visit the Latin American library, which I did do... but I spent about 13.73% of my time in Austin at the library. What did I do instead??? Ate really good Mexican food, and that inspired a thought. Sometimes, when the folks up north ask me what is so great about Texas, I give the standard answers: food is better, the people are nice, sunsets are great, and something about that wildwest mentality is awesome (more on that to come). And, I'm not just saying this stuff, I've been places, I can compare. However, I feel that my answers are still so abstract, so I concocted a new mission for this summer:
Photo-document all the reasons Texas is the GREAT STATE!!!
...Well, at least in the eastern/central/southern/northern parts. My apologies to the panhandle and El Paso, you are also part of the awesome, but it would almost take me as long to get pictures of you as it would to just go back up north. Anyway, a visual journey o' the great state is in the works...
For now, some pictures of Mexican food and Austin-y things:
Lawry with a brisket and a shrimp taco and my fried avocado and seared ahi tuna taco from "Torchy's Tacos" in Austin. Their tagline is "Torchy's Tacos: Damn Good Tacos." And I'll add because it is appropriately funny... hellzzz yes they are! Mmmm, tacos...
My sister drove us all there for dinner (thank you my Austin sensei and yogi) and she got the fried avocado (best) and the shrimp taco. Apparently this place began as a taco truck and then expanded into a small place on what they call "the drag" just off of UT-Austin's campus. As I've always said, you know it is good when it comes from a taco truck or taco stand. Especially, if they made so much money on their stand that they also bought a little place in a hot spot of town.

Then we went to Amy's Ice Cream... Lawry was so giddy about the ice cream; he felt like a child :)
We got a pint of Mexican vanilla ice cream with pecan praline and crushed waffle cone and split it between the three of us while we sat at the children's table. Ah, so good!
Now to work on that research I put off,
