Mi hermana and I took our German friends to Waco to visit the Dr. Pepper Museum and we gave them a general Texas Appreciation Course. They now remember the Alamo. My sister and I L-O-V-E-D the soda shoppe at the DP. We colored to show our appreciation
Then, we took them to Up in Smoke the Zambran's favorite barbecue place on 35 just north of the Wack-Attack. There, an epic battle between Darth (hermana) and Anakin (Maurus) occurred, until Obi Wan (Andy) came and took the young jedi and flipped him over.
Then Anakin/Maurus went swimming. He has convinced me that I still want all girls, but I will happy with one German little boy. He is the cutest :)

Pre-Marital Bliss
Okay, so being engaged? Pretty flippin' awesome, except for the whole 10 months 'til the big day thing. Being engaged long distance? Gag me on a hairy fruit loop, but don't actually gag me 'cause the light at the end of the tunnel looks "wicked awesome" as my favorite Bachelor contender, Cape Cod Chris would say. Anyway, engagement is overall cool, but I cannot wait to be married. Okay, enough whining, some cool stuff. The wedding planning process has been a really big blessing in the disguise of not a blessing! Or, well, a reminder that God is good. That is more accurate. I've encountered old friends in my traipsing through Denton and the DFW, I've had increasingly good luck with florists, and I've gotten to spend so much time with my mom and my sister, I love it. Although, sometimes I forget my sunglasses and I have to wear my dad's like this:
I often do this, because I don't want to buy prescription sunglasses, so I just stack up the lenses. It works. Also, check out this picture...
I found this in Denton today. It was destiny. Russell L Welch, Attorney at Law! It was just too good. I only thinly veiled my excitement about this, thought about stopping the car for a better picture.
Always hunting down treats for the bloggies,
M.J.Z
PS - One of my students told me I had a cool last name. Only 310 days of the Zambra...

Go Green.
My favorite color is green. So, it is no wonder that:
a) my wedding is incorporating plentiful amounts of green,
b) my wedding is going green,
and
c) I have too many green shirts
So, help us green out our Love Premiere (one of the terms I'm using to refer to the upcoming nuptials)! Collect big and little glass jars you get from the grocery, like tomato sauce jars, honey jars, other jars, and give me a call! I wanted to do low key vases for the centerpieces and I liked the idea of mason jars, but then I thought, "Well, hey, I bet I could just collect enough jars for centerpieces and the like without buying them, and then, I'll just recycle them or use them in my home whatevering! And, the wedding will look cooler because of the randomness." More on the re-purposing of wedding decor later, I read about it on a blog and I was like, "Whoa, yes, I want re-useful things!" Anyway, the other thing, cans! I'll take cans as well, but more so of the larger ones than the not larger ones. Like the 28 oz variety. I bet the 40 oz ones would work, too.
Loving the earth,
M.Jo and Lawry

Can I be a "Focus Bear?"
I was "focus fox-ing" one of my kids at work. He said, "what's a focus fox?" After I explained, he said, "Hmm, I'd rather be a focus bear, can I be a focus bear?" I laughed, and he was very pleased with his joke. There's another student who I'm always getting on to about showing his work, so one time I looked down at his paper and I said, "Is that the answer? What do you think I'm going to tell you to do on the next problem?" He thought for a second and said, "Show LESS work?" Children are clever. The second child is also often making jokes followed up with a "see what I did there?"
I spent the past weekend with Lawry in College Station and we had Vietnamese spring rolls with his (and now, our) friends Liam and Hua. I'm pretty sure that's how their names are spelled, but if it's not, I'm sorry, and trust me, I understand. Anyway, we added one point to our internationality per spring roll we ate. Lawry got 6 ish points and I had 7 ish, it's not something I'm particularly proud of...
My hands are obfuscating the rolling process for you, here's the gist though: it was hard.
Speaking of children, look at my adorably goofy fiance. He is really proud of his basic face. I'm really proud of his scruff.

Boyfriend and Girlfriend pair that are good at wrapping these things. They told us that Vietnamese people eat spring rolls at big family gatherings. I think these rolls are infinitely better than Christmas ham.
Blurrily good successful wrap!
Still digesting,
M.Jo.
