I just got my wedpage emails reminding me I have 7 months left 'til the Wambrano Love Spectacular. My first thought?
"Oh, shit."
But, it was shortly followed by, "Wow... 7 months! Just a little over half a year!" I think my second response somewhat balances my initial thought? Whatever, I don't care if it does or not, there's a lot of wedding planning, thesis writing, teaching, and reading to do and they are all take up more than their fair share of time! In healthy news: Put the bookmarks in your pages, drop your writing pens, and pause your researching 'cause LAWRY ARRIVES THIS WEEKEND! In his honor, I will write three pages of response paper riff-raff in order to stay caught up on my work :)
Also, I started volunteering at a local organic foods pantry here in town two hours every week...

Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.

Waiting for Lawry (not Godot... oh my gosh, put your NERD shields on...),

i am so pumped for your engagement photos!
Yes. BORETASTIC. Definitely not waiting for him again... this may be because I'm not in your alley of studying, but all of the literature that came out of the "WWI was really really really terrible" movements are just over my head.
mmm yes. espesh the european ones like that. betsy-tacy ends right before ww1, but was published after, and it is sweetness and light! in general, i'm not much of a fan of "continental" literature.
also, my transatlantic class is giving me new respect for you and historians. wowzers. finding stuff is hard.
tres dificile indeed, i wish the archive was like the internet... rather, i wish it was like a highly efficient google or a genie! find: pictures of french female youth rebelling in mexico city newspapers, GO!
have you heard about this internet "game"... i can't think of what it's called, but you and another person label a picture, but you're trying to make it generic so that you and the other person say the same thing. the game is supposed to be like esp, but really they are trying to label images since computers can't do that. anyway, if they perfected that it could really help you out.
I lurrrve you. I'm at Indianapolis Airport right now waiting for you!!! :)
