Spring has sprung in Texas and Michele Norris is a huge fan! Yippie for bluebonnets! And for camping with good friends :)
Enjoying playing Draw Something with the hubbo (we know the other has "sent" the drawing because we hear laughter, giggles or chuckles coming from the other room),

Seasons
I miss the Church calendar--I sometimes wonder why some people are hesitant, or averse to it. Lawry says he thinks it's because some people hear the words "Lent, Advent, Pentecost" and they think Catholicism which is not Protestant and maybe not Christian. Well, without setting off debate I summarize my thoughts on that as follows:
pish-posh.
I think seasons are good for the soul and I think the discipline it takes to follow them and practice them help open our hearts to God. This is really something I re-learned after reading Lauren Winner's books (holler scholar) and enjoying the seasons in Indiana--rebirth, death, life, these are good for thinking.
Lent-ing,
Mals
P.S. this is a good Lenten devo (we're currently on week three), and all of L. Winner's books are fantastic (I've not read all of them, but the ones I have are grood--great and good)
Plant Babies
Well, I should clarify a little bit on the green onion and eggplant--I think I must have made a small error with the seeds and I may have a volunteer eggplant among the green onion seedlings and vice-versa, but I figure that more or less evens itself out. I'm still waiting on sage, but not featured in the picture is a tiny carrot seedling and a small jalapeƱo sprout. I'll plant a second wave of seeds today!
Going ons at the Wambranos:
1) booked a trip to visit Vanderbilt and Nashville (oh great goodness)
2) scheduled Lawry's UT-Austin Admitted Student Day visit (eeek)
3) got the scholarship monies at Vandy (woot for Lawry!)
Non Lawry the Lawyer related:
1) finally finished our old window/art/headboard thing (full blog forthcoming)
2) made fondue, the deep fried food version, with some friends and it was a BLAST (we invite you over, too)
3) attended a home-brewing party and we are newly inspired to become homebrewers (wish us luck)
Enjoying Spring and its Breaks,

Schnuggles
I'm biased, but my dog does the most adorable things. I guess she got a little cold overnight.
We had dinner with a couple from FBC Bryan who led one of our Bible studies when we were in college. He's a lawyer, and Russell's kept up with them in the past two years, so they invited us to dinner. Talk about a blessing! I think we got some good perspective on our future last night... we'll see how the next few months play out.
Getting ready for the childrens,
