It takes a village, and two weirdos in Austin I guess

So, it feels a little odd writing this blog entry for many reasons and none of them are the point, but I'll keep it short because of that.  We're sponsoring a kiddo from Colombia through World Vision! Woot! I've been wanting to do this for ages, but lack of income and then forgetfulness kept us from that.  In any case, we're blessed to have money now, so we're blessed to give it.  Our kid is an 8 year old little girl who reportedly loves to run and race and her favorite chore is making the bed.  Apparently, I have things to learn from her ;)

Peace friends,

Malssss

Here's some info on our Colombia friend if you like: WorldVision - My Sponsored Child  I haven't clicked on this link myself, so I don't know where it takes you. It was auto-generated from WV though,  so I'm pretty sure its safe.

How Do I Love Thee?

Valentines' Day.  I like you.  Not because of your sappyness, but rather because of how much you inspire people to bake.  I have had 5-6 sugar cookies today.  So what do I love about Valentines' Day? Sugar and Butter... Also, in Venezuela, Valentines' Day is Friends and Love Day (it's alliterative and catchy in español).  I think that sounds a little bit more like a holiday I might pay a bit more attention to.  Or a holiday where Lawry's job is to buy me good cheese.  Felix bought MJ Sr. a pineapple for Valentines' because it is her favorite fruit.  Well done, Papí.

Weakly exercising self-restraint,
MJ

PS - Posts from LAWRY WEEKEND 2011 are on their way!
PPS - Lawry, I love you.  Happy 3* years :)

Hopeless Bloggeromantic

I'm reading my book about men for our pre-marital counseling and it's all about l'amour! And, then I was stalking Today's Letters, new favorite blog, and one follower commented about how a song made her want to have "84 babies with the misterrr."  Well, I don't have a Mr. quite yet, and I definitely don't want childrens quite yet (read: still too self-involved, if you have questions about that, read some blog entries), but there is a song that makes mi corazon melt for the Almostttt Misterr

Looking for pretty pots for my lilacs and buttercups,
MJ

The closing pages of the book club

Hello bloggies! I have made it to the other side of the wedding-fest!  It is a happy place to be, but I do miss my sweet friends.  Both of the weddings were so... THEM! Blash had a visual array of pinks and Molly's had quirks and sweetness.  Very them :)  Anyway, I started using a new camera to capture these moments, and I don't know if I don't how to use it yet or if it just doesn't like me, so forgive me for washing-out, blurriness, or yellow/red tints to everything.  Yay for the besties and the Davids!

A little love for the baked goods trio!
If there is something Blake LOVES, it's David. And Blair's massages :)
Good bye Mrs. Spann!
Hermana is just really good looking.  I covet her hair, in a sane and healthy way :)

Mooooolllayyyy K. Levy... that is how you appear in my phone, minus a few vowels and plus a lot more consonants.

Every girl needs great besties.  Boys too for that matter :)  If I have little girls one day (Lord, please.... GIRLS.), I hope they have besties like Molly and Blake.  Until next time mes bloggz amies!

Waiting for the rain to clear up,
Mals.Jo.

And the BLOCKS shall declare their loff

My bestie Blake had her bridal shower this weekend, so here's some pictures! I'm starting to get all saptastic about my two besties getting married on back-to-back weekends.  It'll be a wedding-a-thon and emotion-off. Well, one day til Blake's an MRS!
Excited about standing with my friends during their weddings,
MJ

Lawry+Jo=My "Little Women" Dreams Come True

For those of you that might not yet know...
He told me he loved me and he asked me to marry him, so..
Lawry and I are engaged!
Yay! He's the best thing about Texas.

Growing in cheesiness everyday,
M. "Jo"

Happy My Parents Day!

So I've never been one to just gush over Valentine's day.  Not because of any Valen-pain or anything like that, it's just that it's sort of a cheesy holiday.  And I don't always like overly cheesed things.  The metaphorical kind of cheesy.  Not the real kind, cheese is gooooouda!

Anyway, since this will be my first V-Day as a blogger, I didn't want to just ignore the holiday, so this year I've decided to celebrate it in honor of other people...

Los ENAMORADOS!!
Yes, those are my parents at Beihai Park in Beijing last spring.  This picture is no exception to the rule of their life, they are always lovey-cup and gushy and asking me to take pictures of them.  So, what better way to spread the Valencheer than to celebrate my mom and dad through all the pictures they've (my mom) asked me to take of them...

 ENAMORADOS MONTAGE!!

Guadalajara for Immigrant Thanksgiving

In Estado Sucre, Vzla for Beach Day #2 (note the Hawaiian shirt)

Snuggly type for Easter 09!
Also, must sing loud for all to hear the Valencheer, sooo....Mariachi love song!

Si nos dejan
Nos vamos a querer toda la vida

That's all. I love my parents.  Mmm, good Valentine's Day. :)

Thinking Texas snow is probably better than Indiana snow,
